

On May 28, 2024, Ms Jaya Jairam of MOHAN Foundation was invited by ROTTO SOTTO Mumbai as a faculty to speak on 'Role of NGOs and awareness amongst important stakeholders'.
The training was held at Seminar Hall, Urology Department, 8th floor, New Building, KEM Hospital, Parel, Mumbai - 400 012. Ms Jaya highlighted the important role played by NGOs in the society and went on to speak about how lack of awareness poses a significant challenge in the Indian context. She then highlighted the need for building awareness amongst the general public, students, corporate employees, religious and spiritual gurus, cricketers and celebrities from Bollywood etc. She also touched upon various innovative ways in which awareness initiatives can be taken up. She also stressed upon the need for Governmental, Private bodies and NGOs to work together in this important mission of increasing organ donation rate in the country.
Ms Jaya also spoke on other advocacy and support interventions undertaken by NGOs. A group of 30 Transplant Coordinators attended the training session and interacted quite enthusiastically.
