Ms. Jaya Jairam invited as a panelist in Panel Discussion on Organ Donation & Multiorgan Cadaver Transplant, organised by 'Learning General Surgery' Forum

    On the occasion of World Organ Donation Day on 13th Aug 2020, 'Learning General Surgery' (LGS) invited Ms. Jaya Jairam , MOHAN Foundation Mumbai as a panelist in the Panel Discussion on 'Organ Donation and Multi organ Cadaver transplant'.
    Moderator & Panelist -
    Dr Chirag Desai, Chief Consultant & Program Director, Dept of Gastrointestinal Hepatobiliary and Liver Transplant Surgery - Apollo Hospitals, Ahmedabad was the Panel moderator and speaker. He spoke on Brain death certification and Donor Maintenance.
    Other Panelists -
    Dr Sonal Asthana, Clinical lead - HPB Surgery & Multi organ transplant, Aster CMI Hospital, Bengaluru spoke on Donor selection for Liver, techniques of Multi-organ preservation, Organ allocation.
    Dr Ashish Sharma, Professor & Head - Dept of Renal Transplant Surgery at PGIMER, Chandigarh shared insights on selection of donor for kidney and pancreas, technique of kidney and pancreas retrieval, their preservation and allocation,.
    Ms. Jaya Jairam, Centrer Head - MOHAN Foundation Mumbai, spoke on initiatives to increase awareness about organ donation.

    There were around 30 participants who attended the discussion - all doctors and medical students.
