

Mumbai Nephrology Group invited MOHAN Foundation's Ms. Jaya Jairam to participate in a panel discussion on 11th March 2021 which is celebrated globally as World Kidney Day, 2021.
The theme of World kidney Day for the year 2021 was "Living Well with Kidney Disease". The invited panel consisted of nephrologists, dialysis patients, caregivers, dieticians, counsellors, kidney recipients, transplant coordinators and representatives of other NGOs.
Dr. Umesh Khanna, a leading nephrologist and Trustee of Mumbai Kidney Foundation hosted the discussion, in which a kidney patient's journey, right from prevention, management of early stage of kidney failure, dialysis management, counselling needs, diet and nutritional needs, caregiver's role and perspective, considering a transplant, financial considerations for a transplant, post-transplant lifestyle and many other topics were discussed.
Ms. Jaya Jairam spoke about MOHAN Foundation's Patient Support Group TRIOMPH and its interventions to provide support to dialysis patients and transplant recipients, such as - discounted Lab tests, Atmanirbhar - employment initiative, advocacy for health insurance for Transplant Recipients and Donors.
