



On 14.03.2017 an organ donation program was organized by the Management of Mangayarkarasi Arts & Science College for Women. It was held at the college conference hall between 1.30 to 3.30pm. The Principal, National Services Scheme programme officers and RRC, Youth Red Cross, CCC of the college attended the session. Nearly 200 students participated in this programme. Mr. S. Venkatesh began with a Q and A session to gauge their understanding of the topic.
Mr. S.Venkatesh, Transplant Coordinator of MOHAN Foundation deputed to Government Rajaji Hospital, Madurai addressed the participants on the following - concepts of organ donation and transplantation, brain death, coma and natural death, need of deceased organ donation, myths and misconceptions and the legal aspects of organ donation and transplantation. The session took place for more than 3 hours with more interaction with students and faculty.
Everyone pledged to donate their organs and picked a donor card. They promised to take this message to their families and friends. As Transplant Coordinator I thank to college Principal and Faculty, the organizing team and all the students who participated in the program.
