




On 4th October, 2013 an awareness session on organ donation and transplantation was conducted for Rotarians at PHD House, Khel Gaon Marg, Delhi. The session was part of an event titled ‘PRATIGYA – A Promise to save Earth and Life’. It was a District level event organised by Rotary Club of Delhi South West and had representatives from various cities participate. The meet was organised in memory of their Late President Mr. O. P. Vaish who supported organ donation and his whole body was donated after his death. Dr. Muneet Sahi, Transplant Coordinator, MOHAN Foundation, Delhi-NCR represented the Foundation as a Guest of Honour to address the gathering and to educated them about the issue.
Dr. Sahi spoke about the dismal rate of deceased organ donation in India; about the lack of public awareness about the issue and also clarified the prevalent myths about organ donation. Briefly, she spoke about the role of transplant coordinators and about the training conducted by the Foundation.
More than 250 members attended the session. 48 members took the donor cards.
