MOHAN Foundation was invited by Mr. Sravan of Telangana Vaidya Vidhana Parishad to set up an awareness stall on organ donation on June 04, 2015 during the Telangana State Festival Celebrations.
There were about 150 medical and paramedical professionals that have participated in the event and all of them were distributed donor cards and family donor cards. Dr. Lalitha Kumari, Director of Health, visited our stall and pledged to donate organs.
Dr. Koti Reddy spoke about the importance of deceased organ donation, religious and cultural barriers involved with organ donation & eye donation, concept of brain death and myths surrounding organ donation. Dr. Bhanu Prakash distributed donor cards and information brochures to all the visitors.
We thank Dr. Lalitha Kumari, Director of Health, for her gracious presence and for supporting this program. We also thank Mr. Sravan of Telangana Vaidya Vidhana Parishad for helping us in organizing this event to promote organ donation. We also thank all the staff members for their active participation.
