  • On January 28, 2024, the MOHAN Foundation hosted an organ donation information stall at the NoMoZo 5.0 in Porvorim, Goa.

NoMoZo 5.0 (No Motor Zone) is a fun-filled event initiated and organised by Porvorim Rising and Mr. Rohan Khaunte, Minister for Tourism, IT, Printing & Stationery & MLA, Porvorim constituency. The motto of the event was "Happy feet on a motor-free street." The event was filled with dance, music, games, food, and a lot of laughter for everyone.

The Chief Guest at NoMoZo was Mr. Jackie Shroff. He appreciated the event as it was a commendable platform to showcase one’s talent, emphasising its role in encouraging growth and environmental consciousness.

The Foundation's stall, which was operational from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., played a pivotal role in raising awareness about organ donation. Mr. Gabriel, stationed at the stall, distributed around 500 flyers, and effectively communicated the concept of organ donation to visitors. Impressively, 20 individuals pledged to donate their organs because of this initiative.

People also picked up the declaration form for whole body donation, and Gabriel informed them that he'd assist them in giving the forms to Goa Medical College, Bambolim.

A heart transplant recipient from Pune, Mr. Advait Kelkar, visited the stall and shared his journey to getting a gift of life. He’s presently studying at the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Porvorim, Goa.
