  On March 10, 2023, MOHAN Foundation was invited by Mr. Raju Tayade, Organizer,Dr.Ambedkar  Sanskrutik Bhavan Committee,to deliver a talk on Organ Donation at Ambajhari Park,Nagpur, Mr.Bulu Behera, Transplant Coordinator, MOHAN Foundation was the key speaker.

  Mr. Bulu addressed the following topics in his talk:

  • What is organ donation? Who can donate an organ?
  • What is brain death and natural death?
  • After brain death, which organs and tissues can be donated?
  • After natural death, which tissues can be donated, and the time factors?
  • What is the difference between coma and brain death?
  • Is organ donation possible if the patient is in a coma?
  • Information regarding body donation and eye donation
  • What are the legal and ethical implications of organ donation?
  • What does the Transplantation of Human Organs Act of 1994 say about organ donation?
  • What is the role of NOTTO, ROTO, SOTTO, ZTCC, and role of MOHAN Foundation in organ donation?
  • Historical aspects of organ donation. 

  The audience enthusiastically posed several questions. To name a few:

  • Government schemes to promote organ donation
  • What is the cost of Liver Transplantation
  • Is brain transplant possible

   

  Mr. Bulu Behra motivated the audience to pledge for organ donation and promoted MOHAN Foundation Toll Free Number – 1800-103-7100 among the audience. Close to 60 people attended the talk out of which 5 pledged to be organ donors.
