MOHAN Foundation invited as faculty for ROTTO-SOTTO's training for Transplant Coordinators held at Raipur, Chhattisgarh

  • Dr. Sumana Navin, Course Director and Ms. Jaya Jairam, Project Manager (Mumbai), MOHAN Foundation  were invited as faculty for training of Transplant Coordinators, organised by ROTTO-SOTTO (Western Region & Maharashtra) in collaboration with ZTCC Pune from 22nd - 26th March 2021 at Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The sessions by the MOHAN Foundation faculty were held virtually.

     

    Dr. Sumana Navin's session was on 'Ethical issues in organ donation and transplantation – case studies.' Some of the areas that she covered during her session were the four pillars of medical ethics, women as living organ donors, precautions in case of a woman living organ donor, the debate on sale of organs, organ allocation - ethical dilemmas in paediatric versus adult transplants, liver transplants for alcoholics, directed/ conditional donation. Ms. Jaya Jairam spoke on the 'Current status of deceased Organ donation, Timeline of successful transplants in India, Organ donation & transplantation Organisations in India.'

     

    Around 40 participants attended the training.
