MOHAN Foundation was invited by Col. Venkat Reddy to install an awareness stall on organ donation during Ex-service men Rally for One Rank One Pension on June 14, 2015. There was also blood donation camp organized along with a medical camp for the ex-service men.
Dr. Koti Reddy and Dr. Bhanu Prakash explained about the importance of deceased organ donation, religious and cultural barriers involved with organ donation & eye donation, benefits of transplantation, T.H.O 1994 Act, concept of brain death and myths surrounding organ donation.
There were about 200 visitors that visited our stall and pledged to donate organs. All the visitors were distributed information brochures and donor cards
We thank the Col. Venkat Reddy for facilitating this session on organ donation and all the participants for their active participation for this noble cause.
