MOHAN Foundation installs Awareness Stall at Telangana Bhavan

  • MOHAN Foundation was invited by Mr. Hafeez and Mr. Srinivas of Telangana Jagruti to conduct organ donation awareness session on March 13, 2016. This session was organized at Telangana Bhavan as a part of birthday celebrations of Smt. Kalvakuntla Kavitha and anniversary of Telangana Jagruti, a community and cultural service initiative started during the Telangana movement by Smt. Kalvakuntla Kavitha, MP of Nizamabad and daughter of first Chief Minister of Telangana, Sri. K. Chandra Shekara Rao.

     

    Dr. Koti Reddy and Mr. Ganesh Kumar organized a stall and explained the purpose, necessity, importance, complex issues in deceased organ donation, concept of brain death, cultural and religious barriers, THO Act and myths related to organ donation and the key role played by youth in taking forward the noble cause of organ donation.

     

    There were about 200 members that visited the stall and all of them were distributed donor cards and information brochures. The members of Telangana Jagruti reacted positively to the idea and have promised to spread awareness about organ donation and include it in their community initiatives.

     

    The stall was visited by the Mayor of Hyderabad, Sri. Bonthu Rammohan and Deputy Mayor of Hyderabad, Sri. Mohmmad Baba Fasiuddin, have extended their support to the organ donation and have appreciatesd the efforts of MOHAN Foundation.

     

    We thank Mr. Hafeez and Mr. Srinivas for their kind support in organizing this awareness session and also thank all the members of Telanga Jagruti for their support in making this program a grand success.
