On July 21, 2025, MOHAN Foundation, in association with Shija Hospitals & Research Institute (SHRI) Pvt. Ltd., Langol, Imphal West, Manipur, conducted an awareness session on organ donation at the Outpatient Department (North Block) of the hospital. The session was led by Ms. Laishram Monica Devi, Project Coordinator (Northeast) and Project Lead (Manipur), along with Mr. Bidyananda Laishram, Senior Program Executive, and Mrs. Thaudem Mayarani Devi, Program Executive, MOHAN Foundation.
The program was coordinated by Mr. Haobam Gunaremba Singh, Transplant Coordinator, and Ms. Sweety Moirangthem, Assistant Transplant Coordinator, SHRI Pvt. Ltd.
Mr. Bidyananda Laishram introduced MOHAN Foundation and outlined its vision and mission. The session addressed several key aspects of organ donation, including the difference between coma and brain death, the current status of organ donation in India and Manipur, and the common myths and facts surrounding the subject.
In conclusion, he spoke about the process of pledging for organ donation and emphasized the importance of carrying a donor card.
Nearly 60 participants attended the session. To aid better understanding, Ms. Mayarani distributed Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) on organ donation to all attendees.
