On 24 November 2015, 20 Cadets of 1TN NCC Air Wing were invited to MOHAN Foundation Chennai, to learn about organ and tissue donation. This was in preparation to a campaign they plan to do in their colleges.
Dr. Hemal Kanvinde, Q & A Officer, MOHAN Foundation spoke to the cadets about the work of MOHAN Foundation, basic concepts of Organ and Tissue Donation and about Brain Death. All the cadets were asked to speak about Organ Donation in Tamil, to make them comfortable with the topic when they speak with their friends in college.
The discussion was on the costs of transplantation, organ allocation, myths about donation and age of donation. This motivated the cadets and they planned to have a campaign and an inter-college competition on organ donation in December 2015.
