MOHAN Foundation was invited by Spanish learning institute - Instituto Hispania, Adyar, Chennai to conduct an awareness program on organ donation. This was for its students to get familiar with listening to a health program in Spanish. It was conducted on 4th August 2018 at 12 PM. Mr. Diego Vallero Riofrio, Intern from Ecuador interning in MOHAN Foundation and Mr. T. S. Siva Shankar, Helpline Executive were deputed for the session.
The session started with the distribution of green ribbons and information brochures. Mr. Diego Vallero Riofrio started the session with the concepts of organ donation and the organs that can be donated. He explained the law that is governs Organ Donation and Transplantation in India. He clarified the Concept of Brain death. He explained the myths on organ donation and at last ended the session with showing the helpline number on organ donation. Diego spoke in Spanish to the students. The students enjoyed the session.
The session went on for 20 minutes and was attended by 12 students. 4 picked their donor cards.
