On 2 June 2017 MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness session on organ donation for drivers. This was done on the invitation from Shri. Sharad Jighkar, Regional Transport Office, Gripeth, Nagpur. It was conducted in the training hall and was meant for drivers who apply for vehicle registration and driving license.
Mr. Bulu Behera, transplant coordinator of MOHAN Foundation delivered a talk on Organ Donation. In his talk he explained for following points:-
v What is Organ Donation and the Law
v Who can donate organ & Types of organ donation
v Brain Death Natural Death and Coma
v Myths related to Organ donation
v Deceased donation cases & Kidney transplant hospitals in Nagpur
v Importance of Donor card, Helpline number and website
It was a very interactive session. 20 drivers were present at the talk and 4 of them were motivated to sign the consent form and pick a donor card.
