MOHAN Foundation conducts Awareness Talk on Organ Donation at Mount Carmel Senior Secondary School, Sector - 47, Chandigarh - Session 2

  Ms. Neha Sharma Katoch is being felicitated

  On 2^nd March 2021, MOHAN Foundation was invited by Dr. Parveena John Singh, Principal and Ms. Sumita, NSS Program Officer of Mount Carmel Senior Secondary School, Sector - 47, Chandigarh to conduct an awareness talk for their students at the NSS camp of their school.  Approximately 30 students from class 11^th and two teachers attended the session.

   

  The session was conducted by Ms. Neha Sharma Katoch and she covered following topic during her talk

  • Need for organ donation
  • Concept of organ donation
  • Difference between Natural death & Brain Death
  • Myths on organ donation

   

  Students were very attentive and alert and showed interest to be organ donor.

   

  The Session was very interactive where students enthusiastically contributed to the discussion and asked many queries.

  1. Why brain cannot be transplanted?
  2. Who bears the donation cost?
  3. How are organs allocated in the hospital?

   

  At the end of the session, Ms. Sumita, NSS Program Officer gave vote of thanks. She motivated all the students to initiate conversation on organ donation with their parents and family and aware the society. All the students were highly motivated and said they will come forth to make it a success in their areas.
