MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness session on organ donation at the medical camp organized by Bangalore Medical College(BMC) on May 20th & 21st, 2015 at Malegalu village, Kanakapura district under the leadership of Dr. Saraswati. The camp also included several aspects on bringing awareness on cleanliness, general hygiene, and organ donation.
There were more than 500 people that attended the medical camp and about 100 people participated in the organ donation awareness event and were distributed donor cards, family donor cards and information brochures.
Ms. Akshata of MOHAN Foundation spoke about the importance of deceased organ donation, concept of brain death and myths surrounding organ donation, and the role of medical professionals in organ donation and distributed the donor cards, family donor cards and information brochures and explained the importance of donor card and the role of MOHAN Foundation in promoting organ donation in India.
We thank Dr. Saraswati of Bangalore Medical College and the organizers for helping us in making this event a success to promote organ donation. We also thank all the participants for their active participation.
