MOHAN Foundation conducts Awareness Program on Organ Donation in Association with Vikasa Taragani at KPHB Colony, Hyderabad

  • MOHAN Foundation was invited by Ms. Sasi Kumari of Vikasa Taragani – Arogya Vikas, an active cultural group formed with the blessings of Sri Sri Sri Tridandi Sriman Narayana Ramanuja Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji that promotes healthy living with a spiritual touch, to conduct an awareness session at Lord Venkateshwara Temple of KPHB colony on 10th November 2014.

     

    There were more than 150 participants that have actively participated in the event which included college students and NCC cadets. All the participants were distributed donor cards, family donor cards, information brochures and activity reports.

     

    Dr. Koti Reddy of MOHAN Foundation spoke about importance of deceased organ donation, cultural intricacies involved with organ donation & eye donation, benefits of transplantation, T.H.O 1994 Act, concept of brain death and myths surrounding organ donation, religion and organ donation.

     

    We thank Ms. Sasi Kumari and members of Vikasa Tarangini – Arogya Vikas for organizing such an event and CI of KPHB Colony Police Station for granting permission for the Walk organized in the colony to promote organ donation. We also thank the local corporator and the principals of Chaitanya and Narayana Junior Colleges for granting permission to their students to participate in this awareness session.
