MOHAN Foundation conducted an Awareness Talk on Organ Donation at Inautix Technologies, Chennai

  • On 27th September, 2013 an awareness session on organ donation and transplantation was organized at Inautix Technologies, Taramani, Chennai.  There were two separate sessions organized for the employees from their two offices: Tidel Park and Ascendas International Tech Park. Ms. Kavitha S, Tranplant Cordinator, MOHAN Foundation, Chennai conducted the sessions. 

     

    Ms. Vidya, an employee delivered a welcome address in which she arrayed the story of one of their own employees who underwent a bone marrow transplant abroad since she did not find a suitable donor in India. Following that; Ms. Kavitha S, Transplant Coordinator, MOHAN Foundation, Chennai made a presentation to educate the audience about organ donation and laid emphasis on the importance of pledging ones organs in the Indian context. Further; a short film on the issue was screened.

     

    Few queries were raised such as: would the Foundation help in finding a suitable donor for renal transplantation, how long does it take to donate bone marrow and what is the procedure to donate organs after one is dead. 

     

    At the end an announcement was made an awareness run to promote organ donation was organised at Elliot's Beach on 29th September, 2013 at 6.30 am. There were nearly 200 employees who attended the session.

     

    There were two separate sessions organised at two of their branches and further; through video conferencing they had connected to the Pune office and around 50 employees participated in the session virtually.
