MOHAN Foundation and Edelweiss Tokio Life Insurance conduct an Organ donation campaign - Zindagi Express

  • On January 5, 2023, Edelweiss Tokio Life Insurance had launched a campaign for raising awareness about deceased organ donation called ‘Zindagi Express’, a relay marathon. The Zindagi Express will travel to 50 locations across multiple states over the next three weeks. It will make 12 stops to participate in various events to raise awareness covering 5,500 kilometers. MOHAN Foundation has joined hands with the life insurance company for a fourth consecutive year in order to take action for spreading awareness. Last stop will be in Bhopal on January 22, leaving behind a heart-shaped imprint on the map of India, aptly denoting the need to have a large heart and donate organs.

    On January 10, 2023, the relay arrived in Mumbai. Around 300 people participated in this initiative. The Chairperson and CEO of Edelweiss Group, Mr. Rashesh Shah, addressed the significance of organ donation. Mr. Sumit Rai, MD and CEO focused on busting myths regarding organ donation as well as the company's commitment to raising awareness and providing support in this area. Ms. Jaya Jairam, Project Director of MOHAN Foundation, emphasized on the current scenario of organ donation in the country. Mr. Kalpesh Palan and Mr. Amey Kesarkar shared their heart touching experience of organ transplantation and were felicitated by Mr. Rashesh Shah. The vehicle carrying the baton was flagged off to the rally's next location at Nashik.
