On September 28, 2025, MOHAN Foundation, in association with the Directorate of Health Services (DHS), Manipur, participated in a Health Camp organized under the ongoing Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan at the Community Hall, Kadangband Part 2, Imphal West. Representing MOHAN Foundation were Ms. Laishram Monica Devi, Program Coordinator (Northeast) & Project Lead (Manipur), and Mr. Bidyananda Laishram, Program Executive (Senior).
The camp was coordinated by Mrs. Bisheshori, Community Health Officer (CHO), Ayushman Arogya Mandir (AAM) Sub Centre, Kadangband, along with support staff, and featured a range of services including Digital ABHA ID registration, medicine distribution counters, immunization, and screenings for non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as hypertension and diabetes.
During her session, Ms. Monica emphasized the life-saving significance of organ donation and its role in improving quality of life. She explained the two types of donations—living and deceased—while clarifying key concepts such as brain death and coma. She also highlighted the existing gap between the demand and availability of organs, explained the process and eligibility for pledging, and addressed common misconceptions with evidence-based information. The session concluded with an appeal to participants to consider pledging their organs and tissues and to share their decision with their families.
Informational pamphlets on organ and tissue donation were distributed, and a pledge counter was set up. Nearly 50 community members attended the session, with 5 individuals pledging their organs and tissues.
