MOHAN Foundation Conducts an Awareness Talk on Organ Donation for NCC Cadets & JCO’s at NCC Academy, Ropar, Punjab

  • On 26th May 2018, MOHAN Foundation was invited by the Commandant, Col Navjot Singh Kang to conduct an awareness talk on organ donation for their NCC Cadets, 02 Officers, 11 ANO’s, 04 JCO’s & 09 NCO’s. Around 525 Cadets from various schools of Punjab participated in the program.

    Col. Navjot Singh Kang addressed the audience telling them about the importance of Organ Donation and how it provides an opportunity to improve the quality of life and saves the lives of others. It is the greatest gift one can ever give.

    Participants were given an introduction and presentation on organ donation and brain death by Ms. Aakriti Negi.

    In this talk she explained the following points: -

    • Organ donation types and who can be a donor
    • The status of Organ Donation in India and their requirements vs donation rates
    • She challenged 5 myths with 5 facts on Organ Donation
    • Difference between natural death and brain death
    • Age is not a constraint in donating their organs.
    • Real life stories of an organ transplant being shared with the participants and how they became a legacy
    • Importance of Donor card
    • To pledge their organs they can register at MOHAN Foundation
    • MOHAN Foundation's mission & vision

    The entire audience got motivated. It was an interactive session with the Cadets.

    The awareness talk ended with a vote of thanks by Col. Navjot Singh Kang.He encouraged the Cadets to be aware and spread the message of organ donation and also share their wish with their families.
