  • On December 22, 2025, MOHAN Foundation conducted an organ donation awareness session during the Combined Annual Training Camp organised by the 14 Manipur Battalion, National Cadet Corps (NCC), Imphal, with support from the North Eastern Region Directorate and NCC Group Headquarters. The session took place at Padma Ratna English School, Kakching, and was led by Mr. Bidyananda Laishram, Senior Program Executive, along with Program Executives Mr. Victor Rajkumar and Ms. Moirangthem Priya.

Mr. Bidyananda began the session by expressing gratitude to the organisers, introducing the MOHAN Foundation team, and outlining the objectives of the initiative. He engaged the audience through an interactive discussion to understand their prior awareness of organ donation.

A detailed overview of the current scenario of organ donation in India and Manipur was presented, followed by a clear explanation of the transplantation process. Key topics covered included the importance of organ donation, the difference between brain death and coma, the distinction between living and deceased donation, and the organs and tissues that can be donated during life and after death.

He also provided a brief explanation of the Transplantation of Human Organs Act, 1994, underscoring that the commercial trade of organs is a punishable offence. Common myths and misconceptions were addressed, with the reassurance that no major religion prohibits organ donation.

In his concluding message, Mr. Bidyananda emphasized that organ donation has the power to save lives and encouraged participants to consider pledging their organs, stating that it is one of the greatest gifts one can offer.

Information pamphlets were distributed for further reference. Close to 250 participants attended the session and gained valuable insights.
