On December 19, 2025, MOHAN Foundation, in collaboration with Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), Porompat, Imphal East, Manipur, organised an organ donation awareness session at the General Outpatient Department (OPD) of JNIMS as part of its ongoing public education efforts.
The session was conducted by Mr. Victor Rajkumar, Program Executive, and Ms. Moirangthem Priya Devi, Program Executive, MOHAN Foundation, Imphal.
Mr. Victor shared key information on organ donation, including its definition, the organs that can be donated, and the difference between living and deceased donation. He explained deceased organ donation in detail, highlighting that organs retrieved from brain-dead patients can save multiple lives and significantly improve recipients' quality of life. He also clarified that commercial trade of organs is illegal and addressed common religious misconceptions, emphasizing that no religion forbids organ donation as a humanitarian act.
Participants were encouraged to consider pledging as organ donors and were provided with informational pamphlets. Around 25 individuals attended the session and gained meaningful awareness on the life-changing potential of organ donation.
