MOHAN Foundation Conducts Awareness Talk on Organ Donation for newly recruited JBT Teachers – Session 5

  • On 27th August 2016, MOHAN Foundation was invited by Ms. Mamta Sharma, Assistant Professor, State Council of Educational Research & Training, Chandigarh, to conduct an awareness session for their newly recruited JBT teachers. Which was the part of 20 days long training session. Around 40 teachers from different schools of Chandigarh attended the session they invited the foundation on the advice of Ms. Bhawna Garg, IAS, Secy. Finance & Director, Social Welfare Department, Chandigarh.

     

    Teachers were given an introduction and presentation on Organ Donation and Brain Death by Ms. Deepika Arora. In this Talk she explained the all aspects of the Organ Donation. Information Sources – MOHAN Foundation website, Facebook page and Helpline Number and Promote Organ Donation video and film on Brain Death was also shown to the teachers to clarify the concept of brain death.

     

    Teachers asked following questions: -

    What are the provisions for Poor People as they can’t afford the transplant cost?

    What is Process of skin transplant?

    How are appropriate recipients recognized for transplantation?

     

    At the end of the session Ms. Deepika requested the teachers that they promote organ donation movement and also help spread the awareness of the organ donation in the families and Schools as the play vital role in the Education system.

     

    All the teachers were highly motivated with the cause and promised that they promote organ donation movement and invite MOHAN Foundation representative for conducting sessions in their schools for sharing this knowledge among the school staff.

     

    It was a very interactive session. 40 Brochures and 10 Donor cards were picked up by Teachers.
