MOHAN Foundation Conducts Awareness Talk on Organ Donation at UPHC, Mantripukhri

  • On November 11, 2025, MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness session on organ donation at the Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC), Mantripukhri, Imphal East, Manipur. The session was led by Mr. Bidyananda Laishram, Senior Program Executive, along with Ms. Moirangthem Priya and Mr. Victor Rajkumar, Program Executives, MOHAN Foundation.

     

    The programme was organised in collaboration with Mr. Kiran, Program Head – Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy (AYUSH), and supported by the centre’s staff.

     

    Mr. Bidyananda introduced MOHAN Foundation and its efforts to promote deceased organ donation in Manipur. He explained the concept of organ donation, the organs that can be donated, and the difference between living and deceased donation. He emphasised that a single selfless act of organ donation can save and transform multiple lives. He also highlighted organ donation as a noble service to humanity and reiterated the ethical principle that prohibits the buying and selling of human organs.

     

    In conclusion, he shared the toll-free helpline number and information resources for participants seeking further clarity on organ donation. Informational pamphlets were distributed to enhance awareness and address queries.

     

    Nearly 30 participants, including children, attended the session and gained meaningful insights into the importance of organ donation as an act of service to humanity.
