Organ Donation Awareness Session at Nand Nagri Bus Depot

  • On November 12, 2025, MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness session for the Bus Conductors of the Delhi Transport Corporation at the Nand Nagri Bus Depot.

     

    Ms. Simran, Program Officer, MOHAN Foundation, opened the session by thanking the participants for their presence and providing an overview of the agenda. She was accompanied by Ms. Annie Shankar, Program Officer, NCR.

     

    In her talk, Ms. Simran discussed the high number of road accidents in India that often lead to untimely deaths, highlighting the importance of understanding organ donation in such situations. She played an explanatory video on brain death and spoke about the types of organ donation and the sensitivity required when dealing with families who have lost a loved one. She also shared real-life inspiring stories and addressed common myths associated with organ donation.

     

    The participants remained actively engaged, asking questions such as: “What is the registration process to donate organs?” and “Will I get financial help if I donate organs?” One female participant even shared that she had already pledged for eye donation.

     

    The session was interactive and well-received, with many expressing interest in contributing to organ donation awareness in the future. Ms. Simran encouraged everyone to continue spreading correct information and dispelling misconceptions about organ donation.

     

    A total of nearly 55 participants attended the session.
