MOHAN Foundation Conducts Awareness Talk on Organ Donation at Sri Guru Gobind Singh College, Sector - 26, Chandigarh

  • On 15th September 2021, MOHAN Foundation was invited at Sri Guru Gobind Singh College, Sector - 26, Chandigarh to conduct an awareness talk on organ donation for their teachers and students as a part of World First Aid Celebration Program. Around 10 teachers and 15 students attended the session.

    Participants were given an introduction and presentation on organ donation and brain death by Ms. Neha Sharma Katoch.

    In this talk, she explained the following points: -

    • Organ donation types and who can be a donor
    • The status of organ donation in India and their requirements vs donation rates
    • She challenged 5 myths with 5 facts on organ donation
    • Difference between natural death and brain death
    • Age is not a constraint in donating their organs.
    • Real life stories of an organ transplant being shared with the participants
    • Importance of donor card
    • How to pledge or sign up for organ donation on MOHAN Foundation's website
    • MOHAN Foundation’s mission & vision

    All the participants got motivated and convinced to support organ donation.  Around 25 people were present in the conference room and 12 of them signed online for Organ Donation. They would love to share their wish with their families and also respect for the body after death.
