MOHAN Foundation Conducts Awareness Talk on Organ Donation at Red Cross - Punjab, Chandigarh - Session 47

  • On 3rd April, 2017, MOHAN Foundation was invited by the secretary, Red Cross - Punjab, Chandigarh to conduct an awareness talk for their first aid students at Vivekanand Bhawan, Chandigarh. Around 40 students from various parts of Punjab, college students, patient care attendants, home nursing, and bus conductors participated in the session.

     

    Students were given an introduction and presentation on Organ donation and brain death by Ms. Deepika Arora.

     

    In this talk she explained the following points: -

    • Organ Donation Statistics in India
    • Myths about organ donation
    • Difference between natural death and brain death
    • Organ donation and its types – Live & Deceased donation
    • Importance of Donor card
    • MOHAN foundation mission & vision

     

    The entire students group was so energized that they support Organ donation movement in a big way. It was indeed and amazing session as participants asked various questions on organ donation.

     

    At the end of the session, Ms. Deepika requested the participants that we all should pledge our organs and talk to the family about this noble cause.

     

    Around 15 participants pledged their organs by signing the donor card.
