MOHAN Foundation Conducts Awareness Talk on Organ Donation at Red Cross - Punjab, Chandigarh Session - 254

  On 7^th September 2021, MOHAN Foundation was invited by the secretary, Red Cross - Punjab, Chandigarh to conduct an awareness talk on organ donation for their First Aid Students at Vivekanand Bhawan, Chandigarh. Around 25 participants from various parts of Punjab, Haryana & Chandigarh attended the program. The participants included college students, patient care attendants, home nursing, nannies and bus conductors.

   

  Participants were given an introduction and presentation on organ donation and brain death by Ms. Neha Sharma Katoch.

   

  In this talk, she explained the following points: -

  • Organ donation types and who can be a donor
  • She challenged 5 myths with 5 facts on organ donation
  • Difference between natural death and brain death
  • Age is not a constraint in donating their organs.
  • Real life stories of an organ transplant being shared with the participants
  • Importance of organ donor card
  • How to pledge or sign up for organ donation on MOHAN Foundation's website
  • MOHAN Foundation’s mission & vision

   

  The entire group got motivated and convinced to support organ donation. Brochures were also given to the participants.
