MOHAN Foundation Conducts Awareness Talk on Organ Donation at Red Cross - Punjab, Chandigarh - Session 156

  • On 1st April 2019, MOHAN Foundation was invited by the secretary, Red Cross - Punjab, Chandigarh to conduct an awareness talk on organ donation for their First Aid Students at Vivekanand Bhawan, Chandigarh. Around 55 participants from various parts of Punjab, Haryana & Chandigarh College Students, Patient Care Attendants, Home Nursing, Nannies and Bus Conductors participated in the program.

    Firstly, Neha Sharma introduced herself to the participant and asking participants that which Organs can be donated while living? Most of the students were know about Kidney transplant.

    Participants were given the presentation on organ donation and brain death by Ms. Neha Sharma.

    In this talk she explained the following points: -

    • Organ donation types and who can be a donor
    • She challenged 5 myths with 5 facts on Organ Donation
    • Difference between natural death and brain death
    • Real life stories of an organ transplant being shared with the participants
    • Importance of Donor card
    • To pledge their organs they can register at MOHAN Foundation

    The entire group got motivated and convinced to support Organ Donation. 35 participants picked up the Donor Cards. They would love to share their wish with their families and also respect the body after death.
