  On 7^th December 2021, MOHAN Foundation was invited by Aerial Telecom Solutions Pvt. Ltd. Mohali, Punjab to conduct an awareness talk on organ donation for their employees. Around 40 participants participated in the program.

   

  Participants were given an introduction and presentation on organ donation and brain death by Ms. Neha Sharma Katoch.

   

  In this talk, she explained the following points: -

  • Organ donation types and who can be a donor
  • The status of organ donation in India and their requirements vs donation rates
  • She explained 5 myths on organ donation with their corresponding reality check
  • Difference between circulatory death and brain death
  • Age is not a constraint in donating their organs
  • Real life story of an organ transplant patient was shared with the participants
  • Importance of the donor card
  • MOHAN Foundation’s mission & vision
  • How to pledge or sign up for organ donation on MOHAN Foundation's website

   

  Following were some of the queries raised by the participants:

  • What are the reasons for organ rejection?
  • If my family refuses to give consent for donation, can I still donate my organs?
  • What is the difference between organ and body donation?
  • What is the procedure for pledging organs by online?

   

  The entire audience got motivated. It was an interactive session with the participants. Around 20 employees signed up as organ donors at the end of the session. In the end they showed great interest in doing more programs with MOHAN Foundation.
