On September 11, 2025, MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness session on organ donation at Kshetrigao Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC), Imphal-East, Manipur. The session was facilitated by Ms. Laishram Monica Devi, Project Coordinator (Northeast) and Project Lead (Manipur), along with Mr. Bidyananda Laishram, Senior Program Executive, MOHAN Foundation.
The programme, organized as part of the UPHC’s Immunization initiative, was coordinated with the support of Mrs. Premlata, Nurse In-Charge, who actively participated in the session.
Mr. Bidyananda Laishram introduced the vision and objectives of MOHAN Foundation and conducted an interactive discussion on the fundamentals of organ donation. He explained the process of organ donation, the vital organs that can be donated, and its life-saving impact. He also clarified the difference between living and deceased donation, and elaborated on the distinction between brain death and coma.
Addressing myths and misconceptions, he reassured participants that no religion is against organ donation. He further encouraged them to share this knowledge with their families and communities, emphasizing the collective role of society in saving lives.
The session was attended by around 12 participants, including children, who received informative pamphlets and left with a better understanding of the life-saving potential of organ donation.
