MOHAN Foundation Conducts Awareness Session on Organ Donation at CISF, Bangalore

  Mr. Ram Snehi, Inspector of the Central Industrial Security Force (CSIF) requested MOHAN Foundation to conduct an awareness session for the CISF Staff in Bangalore on 11^th March 2021.

  MOHAN Foundation was represented by Mrs. Hemavathi, Transplant Coordinator and Mrs. Ranjini Shankar M S, Project Manager. More than 40 inspectors, sub inspectors and assistant sub inspectors, head constables, constables and one company commander inspector was the audience.

  The following topics were discussed in detail:

  • MOHAN Foundation’s vision, mission and activities
  • Brain stem death
  • Circulatory death
  • Jeevasarthakathe and its role
  • Organ allocation system in Karnataka
  • The burden of organ failure and need for organ donation
  • Importance of a donor card

  During the Q&A time, the audience asked questions like whether any special preference is given for the donor families if there is a need of organ transplantation for any of their family members.
