On April 18, 2026, MOHAN Foundation organized an awareness program on organ donation for the faculty and students of the Polytechnic College, under the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), at Khumulwng, West Tripura.
MOHAN Foundation was represented by Mr. Vincent Debbarma, Project Lead, Tripura, and Ms. Nipa Modak, Program Executive.
Mr. Biswajit Debbarma, Organ Donation Ambassador of Tripura, trained by MOHAN Foundation, supported the coordination and organization of the event.
The event commenced with a warm welcome address by Mr. Suraj Debbarma, Principal of the Polytechnic College, who welcomed the team from MOHAN Foundation. In his address, he expressed his appreciation for organizing such an important awareness initiative and highlighted the significance of educating young minds about organ donation and transplantation. He emphasized that awareness programs of this nature play a vital role in dispelling myths and encouraging society to support the noble cause of organ donation.
Following the welcome address, the representatives from MOHAN Foundation conducted an informative session on the importance of organ donation, the process of organ donation, and the need for greater public awareness to bridge the gap between organ demand and availability. The session also addressed common misconceptions and encouraged participants to consider pledging organs to save lives.
The audience actively engaged in the program, listening attentively and participating in the interactive discussion. The awareness session helped participants gain a better understanding of the life-saving impact of organ donation and the responsibility individuals can undertake to support this humanitarian cause.
