MOHAN Foundation Conducts Awareness Program on Organ Donation and Role of Police at Training Centre, Sector-26, Chandigarh

  • On 27th September 2017, Mohan Foundation was invited by Shri Tajender Singh Luthra, I.P.S., D.G.P., U.T., Chandigarh and Sh. Ravi Kumar, I.P.S., S.P. / Operations & Training for conduct an awareness program and Role of Police in Deceased Organ Donation.

    The session was divided into two parts first session was about awareness on Organ Donation taken by Ms. Deepika, She explained as to which organs can be donated by a deceased  person and living person. She also explained the concept of Brain death and its clinical evaluation.

    Second session was about Role of Police on organ donation taken by Mr. Sudhir Dewan, Director, MOHAN Foundation, spoke on the police especially in MLC cases. He informed that in India there is an accident death every 3.7 minutes and 66% of the accident victim can be counselled for Organ Donation Mr. Dewan said that Chandigarh Police has always played a proactive role in case proceedings and also in creating Green Corridors.

    The objective of the programme was to create awareness among the police personnel regarding donation of organs and to discuss the important role of police in this regard to save a lives also in creating Green Corridors while transporting the Human Organs.

    It was indeed an amazing session. Around 200 Police Officers attended the session.
