On October 16, 2025, MOHAN Foundation, Uttarakhand attended a prayer meeting held at Arya Samaj Mandir, Karanpur, Dehradun, to pay tribute to the memory of tissue donor Lt. Col. Ravindra Kumar Mehrotra. The invitation was extended by Ms. Shubhi Mehrotra, daughter of Lt. Col. Ravindra Kumar Mehrotra. Representing the Foundation were Mr. Sanchit Arora, Project Leader, and Mr. Arun Sharma, Program Executive, MOHAN Foundation, Uttarakhand.
The prayer meeting commemorated Lt. Col. Ravindra Kumar Mehrotra, aged 84 years, who passed away due to a brain stroke on October 13, 2025, at Max Hospital, Dehradun. In a generous and compassionate act, his family consented to donate his corneas, coordinated by MOHAN Foundation with the Eye Bank at Swami Rama Himalayan Hospital, Dehradun.
A veteran of the 1965 and 1971 wars, Lt. Col. Mehrotra was the eldest in his family and had shouldered responsibilities from a young age, guiding his younger siblings with commitment and care throughout his life.
During the meeting, Mr. Sanchit Arora delivered a brief address on the significance of eye donation, emphasizing its life-changing impact on restoring vision and hope. On behalf of the Foundation, a certificate of appreciation was presented to the family of Lt. Col. Mehrotra in recognition of their noble and selfless gesture.
Inspired by this act of kindness, an elderly couple who were close friends of the late donor expressed their desire to pledge for whole-body donation and received counseling and guidance from Mr. Sanchit Arora and Mr. Arun Sharma.
MOHAN Foundation extends its heartfelt gratitude to the family of Lt. Col. Ravindra Kumar Mehrotra for their invaluable contribution and exemplary spirit of giving. Nearly 60 people attended the prayer meeting to honor and celebrate his legacy.
