Drivers who apply for vehicles registration and driving license at the RTO were given an awareness session on organ donation on 10th January 2017. The program was conducted by MOHAN Foundation on the invitation of Mr. Sharad Jighkar, Regional Transport Officer, Giripeth, Nagpur.
Mr.Bulu Behera represented MOHAN Foundation and delivered a talk on Organ Donation. In his talk he explained the following points:-
It was a very interactive session. 27 drivers were present at the talk. 3 drivers signed consent form and took donor card.
The drivers asked the following questions:-
1) Can person donate organs after normal death?
2) What is the time duration for heart transplant?
3) If patient is Brain dead in non transplant hospital than how donation is possible?
