  On 15^th August 2022, on account of Independence day celebration, MOHAN Foundation was invited by Junior Chamber International (JCI) Nagpur to set up an information desk on organ donation. Mrs. Savita Nampali president of JCI organized this programme.

  The information desk was set up with MOHAN Foundation’s banners, standees and brochures

  The below topics on organ donation was discussed in detail

  1. Difference between cardiac death and brain death
  2. Organs and tissues that can be donated in both these cases
  3. New advancement like process of hand transplantation was shared
  4. Tissue donation (skin, eyes and bones)
  5. Organ donation that can happen in case of brain death and number of lives that can be saved.
  6. Successful transplant stories, articles and news about green corridor was shared
  7. Myths related to organ donation and the actual facts was presented
  8. Importance of carrying a donor card and sharing the wish to be an organ donor with one’s family was discussed.

   

  Questions asked by the audience were as follows:

   

  • Which governmental schemes are available for poor patients?
  • To get more information on organ donation, whom should we contact?
  • Why is it not possible to donate organs after natural death?

   

  Approximately 50 visitors visited stall 10 of them pledged their organs.
