Interns of MOHAN Foundation conduct a 5-day Public Awareness Campaign

  • Five students from MMM College of Health Sciences in Chennai who underwent MOHAN Foundation’s Ambassador program and interned with the organization, campaigned for the organ donation cause as part of the Organ Donation Day activities.

    Ms. Preetha B, Ms. Christy, Ms. Gayathri, Ms. Haripriya and Ms. Kamatchi went door-to-door, campaigning for the cause in localities near the Foundation’s office from 9th to 13th of August 2021. Shopkeepers of Kilpauk Garden Road; clinics and shops in Shenoy Nagar; auto stands and drivers in Kilpauk area; shopkeepers of Kellys area; and shopkeepers of Anna Nagar Tower Park area were their target group.

    The students explained the importance of organ donation and process for registering as a donor, online. Brochures and green ribbons were distributed. Stickers bearing the helpline number of the Foundation were pasted or walls of shops and on autorickshaws with consent. They met people who were willing to register as donors, those who were enthusiastic to know more about the subject and a few who were already registered organ donors. The students were motivated by the overall response received and the Foundation appreciates their efforts and commitment to the cause.
