International Jawa Day celebrated with a pledge for organ donation

  • The Roaring Riders Club, a Jawa & Yezdi  motorcycle aficionado group of old and young celebrated International Jawa Day on Sunday 8th July 2018 at Hotel Ashoka, Egmore, Chennai .  This year the motto was Road Safety for All.

    They invited MOHAN Foundation to set an information desk  on organ donation.  Dr Hemal Kanvinde, MOHAN Foundation set the desk with posters, banners, information brochures and registration from with donor cards.  This  partnership was earlier done in 2013 and our Trustee Late Shri Prabhat Toshniwal was also present on that occasion to support us.

    All bikers were given a green ribbon to support the cause of organ donation.  Dr Hemal spoke to the gathering of more than 60 about the journey of MOHAN Foundation, how passion is common to both, taking care of their bodies and health like they care for their bikes and be large hearted to pledge to help others when they are no more. She spoke of the importance of communication with the family.  She also requested to invite MOHAN foundation to the worksplaces to spread the concept of organ donation.

    Part of the celebration was a quiz and honoring the mechanics. About 25 bikers registered as donors. The discussion at the desk was about the work of MOHAN Foundation and equitable sharing of organs in the event of a deceased donation.

    MOHAN Foundation thanks Mr. Srinivasan Kashyap of Roaring Riders Club for the invitation to the celebrations.
