Information Desk on Organ Donation at a Madras Week Event

  On August 24^th 2019, as part of the Madras Week celebrations, Inner Wheel Cub of Madras Midtown organized ExquizIt Madras, a unique infotainment, fun and learning Quiz at Madras Management Association Auditorium, Chennai. MOHAN Foundation was invited by Mrs. Kamala Muthu Palaniyappan, President of Inner Wheel Club of Madras Central Aaditya to set up an information desk for the public during the event. The program started by 3:00 PM. The Chief Gest was Mrs. Nallini Olivannan, District Chairman and Quiz masters were Rtn P. P. M. Keshav & Mr. P. Jayakar

  Ms. R. Juhija, Bio-Statistician of MOHAN Foundation manned the information desk during the event and decorated it with banner, standee and a big red heart.

   

  Over 120 people visited the stall and were given information brochures, green ribbon and information about organ donation. The discussion points at the desk were:

  What is brain death and coma?

  What is the age category to donate the organs?

  How to pledge as organ donor?

  Does the government help the donor’s family financially?

   

  Many such queries were answered. 24 people pledged to donate their organs. The program came to a close at 6:00 PM. MOHAN Foundation thanks Mrs. Kamala Muthu Palaniyappan and Mrs. Malleswari of Inner Wheel Club of Madras Central Aaditya for this opportunity.
