Information Desk on Organ Donation Conducted at NMC School Khadan, Central Avenue, Nagpur

  • On May 17, 2026, MOHAN Foundation, Nagpur set up an Organ Donation Information Desk at NMC School Khadan during a Health Check-up Camp organized by JCI Alumni Club India. The objective of the activity was to spread awareness about organ donation and provide authentic information to the community.

    On behalf of MOHAN Foundation, Mrs. Veena Wathore and Ms. Neha Sailwar facilitated the information desk. Ms. Neha Sailwar actively managed the desk, attended the visitors, and guided them regarding various aspects of organ donation.

    During the interaction, information was shared on:

    • What is organ donation
    • Donation after brain stem death
    • Donation after circulatory death
    • How one brain-dead donor can save up to 8 lives
    • Legal aspects of organ donation under the Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissues Act (THOTA)
    • Work, objectives, and Pan-India activities of MOHAN Foundation
    • Helpline support and coordination services provided by the Foundation

    Visitors actively interacted at the desk and raised queries related to organ donation, which were addressed by the MOHAN Foundation team. Ms. Neha Sailwar also distributed informational brochures and shared contact details for future collaboration and engagement activities.

    Around 35 people participated in the event, out of which 1 individual took the pledge for cornea donation.

    The information desk served as a valuable platform to spread awareness, resolve misconceptions, and motivate people to support the cause of organ donation.
