Information Desk at Super Specialty Hospital Nagpur

  • On 14th November 2019, Super Specialty Hospital, Nagpur invited MOHAN Foundation to speak about organ donation to the outpatients visiting the hospital. Dr. Milind Phulpatil, Special Duty In-charge of Super Specialty Hospital invited to MOHAN Foundation had extended an invitation to put up a stall to display information brochures, donor cards standees and  a banner. Mr. Bulu Behera Transplant coordinator managed the stall.

    Information given to outpatients:-

    • Types of death
    • Organs and tissues that can be donated after brain death after natural death and while living
    • How does an organ failure patient register for a transplant and where is the waitlist available?
    • Who can donate organs and what is the importance of a donor card?
    • Activities of MOHAN Foundation
    • Using the Helpline number and website of MOHAN Foundation

    Around 25 patients and relatives visited the stall. After understanding about organ donation, 8 patients and relatives collected consent form and 4 other signed consent forms and took the donor cards.

    Questions asked by patients and relatives.

    • How will MOHAN Foundation get to know of a registered organ donor’s death?
    • What is the time duration for liver transplant?
    • Why is not possible to donate organs following natural death?
