On August 15, 2024, the Buddhist Pensioner Association, located in Bajaj Nagar, Nagpur, marked Independence Day by inaugurating an Information Centre for Body and Organ Donation. The event featured a sensitization lecture delivered by Dr. Sushil Meshram, a renowned Marathi professor and author of three influential books on organ, tissue, and body donation.
The MOHAN Foundation played a key role in this event by distributing informational brochures and pledge forms. The session was attended by approximately 250 members, all of whom committed to donating their organs.
The newly established Information Centre will offer educational materials on a monthly basis to ensure ongoing awareness and engagement. Additionally, the MOHAN Foundation will be responsible for collecting the completed body donation forms and providing coordination services for actual donations, ensuring a smooth and supportive process for all participants.
