Updated on Sunday, March 31, 2019
  • On 28th March 2019 auto stands in Retteri, Chennai were visited and around 10 people were met with in this area. Mr. Albin Joseph and Ms. Sunisha S.S, Interns from MMM College of Health Sciences approached auto drivers in the locality and explained the concepts of organ donation and also answered questions that were asked. Quite a few were unaware of organ donation. Information brochures, green ribbons and donor cards were distributed among them.

There were numerous queries relating to organ donation which included:

    • What does being an organ donor mean?
    • Why should I let my family know that I am willing to donate organs?
    • Which organs and tissues can be donated after death?
    • Can I sell my organs?

Stickers that contain the helpline number of MOHAN Foundation were also distributed to them. 10 drivers agreed to support the cause by pasting the stickers on their auto rickshaw. They were gifted ‘Proud to be an Organ Donor’ badges for supporting the cause.

The National Organ Donation Toll-free Help Line - 1800 103 7100, is operational under the 'Gift Hope, Gift Life' project supported by the SBI Foundation and SBI DFHI Limited.
