On 29th April 2019, MOHAN Foundation was invited by Ms. Pushpinder Kaur, Principal, Army Public School, Damana, Jammu (J&K) to conduct an awareness talk on organ donation for the staff and students. Around 160 students from Class 11 & 12 and 15 staff members participated in the program.
This was our first initiative to address and connect to far-flung places through Skype, where travelling to these places may not be possible. Participants were given an introduction by Mr. Sudhir Dewan, followed by a presentation on organ donation and brain death by Ms. Neha Sharma.
Mr. Dewan explained the process of organ donation – why it is needed, myths related to organ donation and the demand and supply gap of organs in our country
Participants actively participated with a lot of questions which were satisfactorily answered. Participants applauded the effort taken by MOHAN Foundation.
The session was made possible through the initiative and enthusiasm of Ms. Pushpinder Kaur, Principal.
