On 6 June 2026, MOHAN Foundation organized an Eye Donation Awareness Stall at Palghar Civil Hospital to educate the public about the importance of eye donation and corneal transplantation.
The stall attracted significant public interest, with approximately 300 individuals visiting and engaging with the awareness activities. Information on eye donation, its benefits, eligibility criteria, and the process of pledging was shared through direct interactions and IEC materials.
As a result of the awareness initiative, 10 individuals came forward and pledged to donate their eyes, demonstrating their commitment towards helping restore sight to those in need. The event also provided an opportunity to interact with key stakeholders and members of the community, further strengthening awareness efforts in the region.
During the programme, the team had the opportunity to meet Hemant Savara and discuss the ongoing eye donation awareness initiatives being undertaken in Palghar district. The discussion focused on strategies to increase grassroots-level awareness, community engagement, and the importance of encouraging more citizens to come forward and support the cause of eye donation.
