On June 10, 2026, on the occasion of World Eye Donation Day, eye donation awareness sessions were conducted at PHC Somata, Palghar. The sessions focused on creating awareness about the importance of eye donation, its benefits, eligibility criteria, and the eye donation process. Participants were educated about the significance of eye donation in restoring sight to individuals suffering from corneal blindness and were encouraged to pledge their eyes and spread awareness within their communities.
The awareness sessions were conducted by Mr. Ravi Pawar from the MOHAN Foundation. A total of approximately 15 participants attended the sessions and actively participated in the discussions. The programme helped address common myths and misconceptions regarding eye donation while motivating attendees to support this noble cause. The initiative contributed to increasing awareness about eye donation and inspiring individuals to give the gift of vision to those in need.
MOHAN Foundation extends its sincere gratitude to the Medical Officers, healthcare staff, and the management of PHC Somata, Palghar for their valuable support and cooperation in successfully organizing these awareness initiatives.
