Employees of Brady Company, Whitefield learn about Organ Donation

  • On 28th May 2019, Mr.Ranjith from the Human Resources Department and Mr. Prakash, Accountant of the Brady Company India Pvt Ltd had invited MOHAN Foundation to organize an awareness session at their office in Whitefield, Bangalore.

    MOHAN Foundation was represented by Transplant Co-ordinators Hemavathi B N and Marulappa L N.

    The following topics were discussed in detail:

    • MOHAN Foundation and its activities
    • Types of Donors
    • Organs and Tissues that can be donated before and after death
    • Brain Stem Death
    • Jeevasarthakathe and its role
    • Organ allocation system in Karnataka
    • Importance of a Donor Card

    During the interaction, the audience raised the following questions:

    • Why is it not possible to donate organs if a person dies of natural causes at home
    • Importance of time factor in organ transplantation
    • Importance of stem cell and bone marrow donation
    • Age criteria in organ donation

    Around 110 people attended the programme. After understanding the organ donation facts, a few expressed their wish to pledge for organ donation.
